Alexander Platz – painting

Alexander Platz belongs to the artistic series of Massimo Corona where the city becomes a protagonist in a contemporary way, thanks to a subjective and geometric interpretation of satellite images of it.
This is how a new defragmentation of the city takes place, characterized by the use of two main color values – such as blue and orange, red and green, or green and violet.
A synthesis that focuses attention on certain particulars of cities that become abstract motives, out-of-context, and then lost in the total as soon as you just leave the artwork. All this is realized through a careful search for balance and soft rigor, never shrill, but emphasizes that the synthesis process always corresponds to a loss, whether it is semantic or cognitive.
