Dalma, the third chair designed by Carapace, is made of poplar wood and it has a white iron structure. What makes this object unique is the finish of the wood. It has been used Shou Sugi Ban, an ancient Japanese technique that makes the wood stronger and longlast. The wood, after being under a charring process, has been washed and brushed with water in order to remove the soot in excess. At the end of the process a natural oil is applied to seal the wood. Produced and handcrafted once booked, numbered and signed by CARAPACE © in Italy and it’ll get at destination with its own certificate of authenticity.
